Verizon had been utilizing quite a few musicians in the advertising outside of the traditional campaign work. I proposed consolidating them into one unified program: VZW Rockstar. This was a micro site whereby consumers could go play games relating to their favorite stars. For a closer connection, the stars referred to the Verizon phones they personally used and why.
The website was a huge a success, but an approval nightmare. Every time we wanted to update something the site would have to go to each of the artists for approval, which took forever and cost more as they would often have particular changes required. I learned a lot from this on how to make a great interactive and engaging site and also the importance of understanding the nuance of contract.
The Best Family
Verizon got the rights to use the term "the best network" and I was asked to find a way to utilize that to a variety of customer types in personal manner. This was a regional campaign that ran extensively in a wide variety of formats. I developed the concept, art directed, photo art directed, and wrote the copy.
The Best Friends
The Best Music
This was a traveling business to business training initiative for which I concepted and developed all aspects of the 32 different components. The puzzle seemed cliched to me even at the time (15 years ago), but they loved it and extended the scope substantially, which made Account very happy.
